Masterclasses Students of The Sharkey Voice Studio participate in class workshops, where singers perform for each other in a supportive peer environment under the instructor's direction (or by a visiting guest artist). Masterclasses offer a complete musical experience and evaluation, regardless of his or her performance skill. Every aspect on how to make a successful performance in front of an audience is addressed. All students are accompanied on piano by an accomplished pianist.
Students are required to participate in at least 4 out of 5 masterclasses held throughout the academic year.
Each masterclass is 2 1/2 hours in length and are invoiced as a regular lesson.
All masterclasses take place at MacEwan University's Conservatory of Music at the Alberta College Campus.
Students are expected to have their song fully prepared for performance and memorized.
Professional attire is encouraged.
Piano accompanist fees are invoiced separately by the pianist and must be paid in full to the pianist before the day of the masterclass.
Masterclasses are open for observation to the student's family and friends.
