LEARN ENGLISH THROUGH SINGING THE SHARKEY METHOD™ (LETS) is an innovative 11-12 week course that uses the power of music and singing to help strengthen English as an Additional Language (EAL) students' English skills. Students sing songs together in English while studying pronunciation and grammar. Join Maura for this fun weekly class where you will sing simple contemporary pop songs together in English, learn how to pronounce each word correctly, work on your English language skills, and learn the context and the idiomatic expressions expressed in each song. Participants do not need to have any experience, all are welcome.
This course is offered in-person at MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta, and online through the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association.
- The in-person LETS course is offered to students who register in the Pronunciation Course (course #EOPT 061) of the EAL program at MacEwan University
- The online LETS course is open to ALL globally, including students, staff, and faculty at Global Gathering Place as well as any Saskatchewan community member
